Colleagues,
MVP: A mentor is focused on your life and your growth. Back in episodes 100 and 101 of The Assistant Principal Podcast, I interviewed my mentor, Dr. Jan Osborn and in episode 123, my other mentor Dr. Jacque Jacobs. Both of my mentors were also my leaders who I directly reported to in my job. So, what’s the difference between the leader and a mentor? Here’s what I came up with:
I have been blessed, so blessed to have incredible mentors. Remember that the mentor is the fourth role in your support network. You can get our checklist here to help you be intentional about filling all four roles in your support network. If you are interested in developing that mentoring relationship with me, I would love to walk that journey with you. You can learn more about my mentoring and group coaching programs by clicking the links. Today’s intention: Look for opportunities to mentor others today, remembering that mentoring focuses on the person and their goals, not our own. Cheers! Frederick
