Hi Frederick,
I enjoy the relationship matrix! As I looked over the different categories on it, I realized why my most effective leaders have taken an interest in my life outside of school. I forwarded this email to three who have coached me, as opposed to simply advising or teaching me, and thanked them for making that investment.
I just earned my administrator credential here in Maryland, and I really appreciate your podcast and online resources because they help me plan ahead for how I will lead when that opportunity arises. Thanks for sharing your experiences and your expertise!

Dr. Buskey,
I've been listening to your podcast since I found it.
I wanted to thank you for what you've offered listeners who need your content and provide you with a simple testimonial to its effectiveness. Now, I'll try to follow your strategies as I move into a role you can only learn through doing.
Anyway, I appreciate the content and LOVE that it's a family affair. Take care, sir.
Respectfully,
Joseph - Assistant Principal
I have found the emails to be helpful as we prepare for 2nd semester's shift from setting the foundation of our school culture... Thank you for sharing your wisdom with those of us who are in the trenches to improve the lives of the scholars and teachers we serve!

Thank you for reminders that relationships are first! Even though I believe one of my strengths is listening and caring, this work is full of urgency... Your thoughtful emails remind us the crisis will still be there; however, taking time to ask about a staff member's baby or ill mother, reminds us we are all connected and valued.
In all honesty, I have realized over the past year with your help, that students are always first priority for me and staff members are not as high up on my list. That's difficult to write and admit… However, over the past couple of years and reading your thoughtful perspective, I am learning that our teachers and staff who work with our young people need lots of nurturing, too, so their cups are "filled" too as they do the work to uplift.

My only complaint about Dr. Buskey is that there are not more of him to share with the world's educational leaders. His insight is necessary for those seeking to be better versions of themselves, & his ability to guide you along that path confirms & challenges you to reach new levels! |
You’re great Dr. Buskey! Thank you for pouring so much into your classes. |
Being a school leader is challenging and at times messy. Having the ability to discuss specific needs with someone whose only desire is to assist in a non-judgmental way is extremely helpful. Sometimes you just need someone to listen...Dr. Buskey is that person.
