What shelf should the cereal bowl be on?

Colleagues,
 
MVP: Ask people what they need to be more self-sufficient and they will tell you.
 
Yesterday I suggested helping people become more self-sufficient was sometimes a necessary step in freeing up your own time.
 
I used an example of teaching your kids to fix their own breakfast.
 
How do you do that?
 
Ask them what they need in order to do it themselves.
 
The answers may surprise you:

• Buy better cereal.
• I already can, but you never give me the chance.
• Move the bowls from the top shelf to the bottom shelf.

 
You won’t know, unless you ask.
 
Today’s intention: Pay attention to the things you do that others could do. Think about what might help people be more self-sufficient, then ask them what they need.
