The journey from urgent to strategic consists of five stages:

1. Realizing what the black hole of urgency is and why you are trapped in it.
2. Becoming intentional about the choices you make and the things you do.
3. Implementing some simple strategies to decrease the amount of time you spend working in quadrant 3.
4. Reinvesting a few minutes each day into supporting and growing people with two powerful practices.
5. Prioritizing people, purpose, problems, and progress.
