MVP: Have strategies for ending your day.
The final strategy for better productivity is ending my day. After my podcast with Dr. Helen Kelley (link), I have become much better at transitioning from work life to personal life.
I already shared that I schedule the next day’s priorities. I then close down my computer and leave the office. I change my clothes (even though I usually work from home) and I do not listen to business podcasts.
There are a handful of people who can reach me on cell if something crazy happens, so I don’t need to check my email.
There is a lot more to these practices than what can fit into a 200-word email. In this morning’s episode of The Assistant Principal Podcast, I go into more depth, including discussing the barriers and challenges I have in maintain these practices. You can find the episode link here.
Today’s intention: Five days, five strategies. Which of these might work for you?
