Colleagues,
MVP: When considering whether or not to invest time into something, we need to consider what else we could do with that time! Yesterday I shared how my recent replacement of a kitchen pocket door went askew, literally. With an ugly gap between the door and the jamb, I was faced with three options:
I asked you which I should do and said there was only one correct answer. The correct answer is that you do not have enough information, because you don’t know what else I could do with my time! One mistake we make when considering a course of action is to focus only on the cost of that action. We also need to consider the opportunity cost – what opportunities are we giving up? Today’s intention: Think about the priorities in your organization. Are you focused on them? Are other things getting in the way? How? Why? Cheers! Frederick
