Colleagues,
MVP: A good idea, poorly executed, might be better than a great idea with a grand plan. The other day I began working on an idea that I was desperate to share with others. I began by simply recording my ideas so I could share them as a podcast, but it was to raw and unpolished. I wrote out the skeleton of a script so it would be more coherent, but it lacked visuals. I decided to do a video with some slides, to release along with the podcast, but when I began to work on the slides, I realized I didn’t have a PPT template themed for The Assistant Principal Podcast, so I began to create one. And now, the few precious hours I had to share my idea have come and gone. If what I wanted to share was actually valuable, it would have been valuable as an unpolished sound file, and it would have been more impactful by being shared as opposed to sitting in my computer as a half-completed presentation. Today’s intention: Think about something that is critical that you are working on and try as hard as you can to make it smaller. Do less! And release or implement it sooner. Cheers! Frederick
