Not just another meeting

Colleagues,

Yesterday I shared with you that Mara and I have a weekly meeting. 
 
Here’s what works:

• We begin with celebrations
• The first substantive agenda item is personal growth. Continued growth, of self and others, is the most important work of leaders! That’s why it is first.
• We have developed multiple routines and processes resulting in better workflows.
• We uncover problems early and solve them.
• We hold each other accountable so that stuff gets done.
• We are building a vision for the future and laying the groundwork today.

 
This meeting is rarely longer than one hour, yet it focuses our work for the week. It easily saves each of us an hour, boosts creativity, and improves what we share with others. 
 
Yes, work is crazy busy, but clinging to a story that we are too busy to meet as leaders is just that – a story.
 
Today I am laying down a challenge to do one of three things:

1. Email me here just to tell me that yes, you are already doing this.
2. Email me here to tell me what time and day of the week you are committing to for your new weekly meeting.
3. Email me here to tell me all the reasons that you cannot do a weekly leadership meeting.
