Colleagues,
MVP: Please read this one – it might be the most important email I have written. Ever. There is a friend I love dearly but who is consistently pointing the finger at others. Everything is someone else’s fault; everyone else needs to do better. The blame always lies elsewhere. Of course, this makes for a tough life at so many levels:
I have been rehearsing in my head the conversation I need to have with this person. The thing I most want to say is, “Stop judging others! Everyone is doing the best they can. When you stop judging them, your relationships will improve, and you will be happier.” And as I rehearse, it hits me. They are doing the best they can. If I stop judging them, my relationship with them will improve. And I will be happier. And maybe so will they. It is so much easier to preach something than to live it. Today’s intention: Look for your own hypocrisy. Listen to your own advice. Cheers! Frederick
