Colleagues,
MVP: Consider your position in all situations This week we are revisiting last week’s horse story, but from Pam’s perspective, not mine! This is an amazing week of lessons about perspective and so much more! Without further ado, here’s Pam… As Frederick said, we spent a bit longer chatting with new acquaintances at our afternoon pub stop and decided to take a less used path to get back to our Pennine Way trail. We knew where the PW trail was supposed to be, but we ended up meeting two beautiful horses in a not so beautiful barnyard. Frederick provided us with three options once we find ourselves in a difficult situation (see his Monday message last week): Go back, press ahead, or adjust! Being the other participant of this event, I find it essential to give you a different perspective! I propose that before you process those three options, you stop and assess yourself. You may find YOU are the cause of the situation itself, and if not the cause, may be a significant contributor. Today’s intention: Think about the amazing initiatives happening in your organization today, both planned and unplanned. Be aware of your positionality. What are you doing to support those initiatives! And what are you doing, maybe unconsciously, to be the cause of the road bump for others? Pam
