Colleagues,
Yesterday I was looking at the website of an educational consultant and it was gorgeous. It was a great piece of marketing and had valuable content to offer. This consultant is doing a great job steering people to her website to learn more about her. Some of those people, I hope, will hire her to help them have a greater impact on the people they serve. My own website is so under-developed that I almost don’t want people to visit it! Should I put the brakes on everything and clear my calendar to upgrade my website? No. That consultant’s strategy is to send out important questions, draw people to her website for answers, and secure clients from some of the people who connect with her content. But that isn’t my strategy, so I should not spend time and energy on something that isn’t a core piece of my strategy. What about you? Do you have a core strategy for how to develop your organization? Do you stay focused on that strategy, or do you get distracted by really nice websites? Cheers! Frederick
