Alexandra Auriemma is a wonderful assistant principal in New York.
 
Way back in episode 153 I suggested three questions school leaders should ask their veteran teachers:

• What is your teaching super-power?
• What’s the biggest difference between who you are now as a teacher, and who you were when you began?
• If you could get students to do one thing differently, what would it be?

 
Alex involved the whole team, not only in asking veterans but in conferencing with all of their teachers.
 
The biggest takeaway was this – listening to people helps them feel valued, and helps you be better at supporting and growing them.
