Are you ready for the 96-hour challenge?

Colleagues,

In about 96 hours you will be reading Friday’s message in which I will ask you to reflect on how your organization is better than it was when the week started.
 
This week, you can create a stronger organization!
 
 It isn’t rocket science and it isn’t even that difficult. Here are the keys:

• Be incremental. You don’t need to take big actions; small ones are fine.
• Be intentional. Set a focus area and be mindful of it.
• Be strategic. Ask:
  • Will this improvement help us be better at achieving our purpose?
  • Am I addressing a root problem?
  • Will my actions lead to immediate progress?
  • Who am I growing?

 
Some examples of how to make your organization stronger:

• Develop a standard operating process (SOP) to increase efficiency and accuracy of a common function or event.
• Become aware of recurring issues and work with a team to uncover the root problem.
• Use 5-minute coaching to ask people what is going well in the organization and what needs to change. Tackle the easiest change.
• Grow someone. Tell one person that you are doing this challenge and you want to help them get better at one thing over the next four days. Ask them for permission to help them.
