Many districts are happy to support external professional development activities for assistant principals. This guide is a WIP (work in progress) as the requirements among districts varies.
How does applying for district funds work?
The first step is to ask. You may use the letter below as an outline. The district investment is $500 for the five-week course. For that investment, districts can expect:
If you receive a positive response, use the letter below as a template or guide for making your official request. In some cases, actual payment may not occur until after the cohort has started. If funding is approved but not available until after the cohort has begun, please email me at [email protected] to work out details.

- You will be able to empower teachers to solve their own problems
- You will be able to develop more reflective teachers
- You will improve your instructional leadership
