Are you getting the kind of PD that works for you?

  • Podcasts are great - especially mine 🤣 Seriously though, if you listen to podcasts while you are on the go (or in the garden like me), it can be hard to follow-through.
  • Books are wonderful, but how many can you really read in one year?
  • I love articles - from a variety of sources, but there is a problem. The ones that have really good information often lack implementation suggestions.

Are you like me?

I want information I can read quickly, but also apply. Better yet, I want guidelines for discussing things with my team and concrete strategies for how to move forward. I don't want ads, and I don't want fluff.

So, what is Quadrant2, and what is this "micro-journal" thing?

If you know me, then you have probably heard me talk about the Eisenhower Matrix. Quadrants 1 and 3 are the urgent zones, where we usually spend most of our time. Quadrant 2 is the growth zone. Investing in quadrant 2 moves our organization forward. Q2 is mostly about instructional leadership, but it is also about aligning your structures and systems, people, and resources to your core mission.
Quadrant2 is a micro-journal. I'm not sure if that is a real thing, but we wanted a name that suggested something that was substantive but small. Each issue of Quadrant2 will focus on a single issue, skill, or technique. Each issue will contain the following elements:
  • Just the right amount of detail on a specific focus area (e.g. how to use a structured agenda with your ILT).
  • An explanation of why the focus area is critical and how to leverage it for best results.
  • A-B implementation steps.
  • Questions and topics to discuss with members of the ILT and other stakeholders.

Each issue will also include one tip on moving from the urgent zones (quadrants 1 and 3) to the growth zone (Quadrant 2).

If this sounds good, you can subscribe using the link below.

Are you ready for Quadrant2?

  • Are you ready to get solutions to your most pressing problems?
  • Are you ready to get just the right amount of information?
  • Are you ready to get actionable implementation strategies?
If so, then you are ready for Quadrant2!

One other thing...

Each issue of Quadrant2 is designed to stand alone. However, members of our APEx community will have access to additional materials and support for implementing the focus of each Q2 issue. What's APEx?
  • APEx is a community of APs and other leaders from across the country.
  • A home to grow in and to interact with other dedicated and passionate school leaders.
  • A library with videos to provide more depth and detail on Quadrant2 content.
  • A help desk with webinars and discussions that dive more deeply into Q2 concepts.
  • A practice field with group coaching to focus on you.
Unlike The Assistant Principal Podcast and Quadrant2, AEPx is not free. If you are interested in it, you can learn more here.
I hope you'll give Quadrant2 a try!

Cheers,

Frederick
