This is a heavy post (again) so skip it if you don’t have the capacity today

Colleagues,

The past two weeks have been the hardest of my life and I and the people I love will be picking up the pieces for a long time to come. Again, don’t feel sorry for us, this is life. We have all been there and likely will be again. Here are two critical things I am taking away from the last 14 days:

• Do less, move slower. My impulse is to take charge and act and that has not worked. If I had been able to slow down, things likely would not have been as bad.
• Take care of yourself. The more rundown you get, the worse mistakes you’ll make. It sounds ludicrous, but in the midst of it you need to eat healthy, take walks/work out, and find time to be alone. When you are in this space it feels impossible to do these things, but the more rundown you become the worse decisions you will make.
