Colleagues, Reflection #3: Take good care of the things that keep you safe (and watch for signs of wear) Another contributing factor to my accident was my tires. At my last oil change they told me I should get new tires. I decided to ride this set out until the next oil change. When I hit the ice, there wasn’t enough tread to dig in. When I exited the truck I noticed how bad the tires were, something I hadn’t looked closely enough at before. The same thing can happen with our self-care routines. When we spend more time scrolling in the morning, at the expense of journaling or moving, our care routine becomes worn and won’t keep us as safe as it should. For a more in-depth reflection about this week’s leadership lessons, listen to the episode here. I’m happy to acknowledge Kaleidoscope Adventures as a sponsor of yesterday’s episode of The Assistant Principal Podcast! I appreciate their support and encourage you to connect with them if you are thinking about planning a school trip! Cheers!
