Way #3: Identify key functions

Every job has a couple key things that must be executed correctly. Get those key things wrong, and you are cooked.

For a new person, those critical things may not be apparent, and if you can’t help them get it right immediately, then they may be doomed to failure.

Think about the essential things in the job, then make sure your newbie knows what they are and how to do them.

And hey, my principal friends out there, make sure you do this with your new APs. They will thank you!

Today’s intention: 

1. Identify the three most important parts of the job.
2. Talk about them with your newbie.
3. Make sure they can execute, or come up with a plan.
