Colleagues,
Two weeks ago I was running a training for non-profit leaders. As I was setting up, I opened my box of markers and there was a card in the box, and on the outside it said “Open during Fred talk.” Fred is the name of the negative inner voice that can become hypercritical and undercut my confidence. The card was put there, unbeknownst to me, by a participant in one of my previous trainings (in which we do a lot of work on combating imposter syndrome). The note inside was beautiful and uplifting, and gave me an immediate boost. And… I put the card back in the box and reencountered it the next week when I did another training. And it made my heart sing. And… this morning I found it on my desk. And it made me smile again. Kind acts, especially those that leave an artifact, have positive impacts far beyond what the giver usually imagines. It's Friday. Be thankful. Be kind. Write an uplifting note to somebody. THANK YOU Nita! You’ve made my day multiple times and inspire me to be my best. Cheers! Frederick
