Same as yesterday – lift someone up by checking in!

Colleagues,

I've written before about the research showing that people who enacted kindness vastly underestimated the value of that kindness. In yesterday's message I talked about the importance of checking in with people who are under particular levels of stress — a theme that also came up in this week's podcast episode with Liz Capone. Please do not underestimate the value, even if there's a situation you really can't help with — checking in with someone and letting them know that you recognize the situation and that you're thinking of them is huge.

Also, I want to give a shout out to my friend, reader, and leader, Chris Stuckey, who yesterday reached out to me and just asked. Chris may not realize how that lifted up the rest of my day, just like you may not realize how a simple check-in can impact the person you're demonstrating care for. So again, as I said yesterday: check in with somebody. They will appreciate it more than you can imagine.
