Readers share their one word

Colleagues,

It’s been a tough week. More on that tomorrow. But today, let’s celebrate.

Two weeks ago, we talked about one word and many of you graciously shared your one-word with me. Here are some of them (shared with permission):

• Be authentic: I found myself trying to lead like someone else instead of myself, which was causing numerous initiatives, poor decisions, fractured working relationships, and a loss of focus on what we really wanted to accomplish this year as a building. 
• BUILD:  I chose it because I've learned to build supports for students and teachers, but want to focus on building capacity within our school - my own capacities and others'.
• Capable: At times I suffer from Imposter Syndrome. This is my second year as an AP, but I taught language for 20 years prior all in the same district and building!
• Audacious: I'm looking forward to setting audacious goals, listening to stories of people who are living (or have lived) audacious lives, and explore opportunities to make audacious impact in others' lives.
