Overuse of a style can weaken a team

Colleagues,

While each DiSC leadership style has strengths, they also have negatives associated with overusing a single style, which is more likely to happen under stress:

• D = Dominant: becomes impulsive and domineering
• I = Influence: becomes unrealistic and over analyzes 
• S = Steady: avoids conflict and withdraws 
• C = Conscientious: micromanages and creates death through details

When a team is aware of both the strengths and weaknesses of the different styles, it’s much easier for them to talk openly about what they need from each other, thus creating a more cohesive team. Again, there is more detail in yesterday’s podcast.
