One word helps us manage our priorities

The central message from my book, A School Leader’s Guide to Reclaiming Purpose, is this: 

STOP MANAGING YOUR TIME AND START MANAGING YOUR PRIORITIES!

Over the past couple years, I have gotten much better at building my weeks around my priorities. There are core business practices that are blocked into my calendar and everything else is built around them. That’s priority management.

What my one word, move, calls me to do is to reorganize my calendar around movement.

It is a flip from “I have to cut my workout short so I can write next weeks’ emails” to “after this workout I may not have enough time to write the emails.” 

Said another way, the health of my knee has become more important than the health of my business.

Why have I invested three days sharing my word with you?

To drive home how to leverage one word to become a better, more intentional leader.
