Colleagues, You might remember from 2 weeks ago when I talked about getting into a wreck in my Ford Maverick truck. This week, I want to reflect on that experience and share some leadership insights that will apply to any and all organizations. Reflection #1: Weigh the risk versus reward and make the best decision you can with the information you have at the time. I didn't know the road was as bad as it was, and I did seriously consider not going on the road but I thought it was going to be okay. Prior to driving, I did think about the risk and reward in this situation. I didn’t think the road was going to be bad, and the reward of connecting with two leaders in schools was going to be awesome. It turned out that I didn’t make the right decision, but looking back, it was the best decision I could have made with the information that I had at the time. So, when you make mistakes, it's important to think back and reflect but it’s not helpful to beat yourself up about it. Learn and move on. Cheers!
Frederick
