Colleagues,
MVP: #4 - Communicate honestly, especially in difficult times. Being vulnerable is being honest and it creates a safer culture. Lately I’ve had some really great podcast interviews (IMHO) and the same themes keep popping, one of which is vulnerability. As leaders we are supposed to be perfect and all-knowing, but that’s not what being human is about. When we display vulnerability, we communicate we are human. AND… …when it is okay for us to make mistakes, we create an environment in which other people can make mistakes and still be safe. AND… …it is very difficult to grow without making mistakes. And in a touch of irony (?), the disclaimer box at the bottom of this message explains me being vulnerable. Honestly, I did not plan it that way 🤣. Being vulnerable: I’m struggling to come up with fresh ideas for the daily email, so I asked ClaudeAI to generate a list of the 25 key actions for leadership. I will use ClaudeAI’s words for the MVP and everything else will be my take on the idea. I’ll cover the top ten over the next few weeks. Counting down backward of course! Cheers! Frederick
