Colleagues, This week I’ll be at the South Carolina Association of Title 1 Administrators’ (SCATA) annual conference. I’ll be keynoting at lunch on Oct. 22 and have two breakout sessions on Thursday:
If you are at SCATA PLEASE come say hello! Not swat, SWOT. A SWOT analysis is a very quick and simple way to get some insights into your organization. By helping you look at the positives and negatives of your organization and the greater environment, you can think about how to leverage your strengths and anticipate challenges in the near or distant future. I love to use this tool with leadership teams by asking individual members to fill it out prior to meeting and then meet to collaborate and share perspectives. We’ve also used the SWOT as a way to assess and build common understanding about specific programs or initiatives we are running, doing a separate SWOT for each one. You can hear more on today’s episode of The Assistant Principal Podcast. If you’d like a copy of the SWOT tool as well as the stop-start-continue-consider tool (see tomorrow’s email), just email me here. Bonus points if you tell me about yourself and what your leadership focus is right now. Thanks again to IXL for sponsoring today’s episode! Cheers!
Frederick
