Colleagues,
MVP: Celebrating enhances purpose, nurtures hope, and strengthens community. Celebrate! It doesn’t matter how small it is. When we celebrate together by acknowledging what is going well, we provide evidence to each other that what we do matters, that there is hope, and that we are all connected. Meaning, hope, connection. Here’s my challenge for you: Begin every conversation by asking, “what are you celebrating today?” Cheers! Frederick

Colleagues,
MVP: Take care of yourself You can’t shine light for others if you are burned out. Refusing to take care of yourself is ultimately a selfish act that harms everyone around you. Three things that take almost no time:
Cheers! Frederick Colleagues,
MVP: Simple actions can keep us connected Double down on your relationships by checking in with people. Going through your day and someone pops into your head?
That’s it. Stay connected. Cheers! Frederick Colleagues, MVP: Affirm, acknowledge, listen. In today's episode, Mara and I explore eight critical things you can do as a leader to support the people around you, especially those experiencing severe turbulence. I’ll share one today and three others later this week. I think the number one thing you can do is to shift your own inner narrative to say, “My most important function right now is to communicate to people ‘I care, I will support, and I trust them.’” Make this your mission – it is one thing that you can be instantly successful in and which will make a difference. How? Just tell people you value them, acknowledge what they are feeling, and most of all, listen. Thanks again to IXL for sponsoring today’s episode. Cheers!
Frederick Colleagues,
MVP: Protection and guidance are keys for servant leadership I deeply appreciate the responses you shared with me during last week’s emails. The path forward for each of us is to lend support and encouragement wherever we can, and your sharing with me made (and will continue to make) a difference. One reader shared this… “Improvement Strategies are available at a keystroke. Protection and guidance, not so much. Since you possess the ability to protect and guide, and your moral compass is functioning, and you are not the center of your own universe, you are feeling the need to shift. I believe they call that servant leadership.” This was affirming and instructive, and doesn’t just apply to me. Information, processes, change strategies – we can all Google/ChatGPT them. We can’t always feel protected. We can’t always get good counsel. We can’t always feel trusted. However, as a leader, you can protect, you can listen, you can trust. Cheers! Frederick |
